Description

Festive and fluffy matcha pancakes shaped like Christmas trees, perfect for holiday breakfast or dessert!

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1 tablespoon Aiya Culinary Grade Matcha Powder
  • 2 teaspoons baking powder
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1 cup milk
  • 2 tablespoons melted unsalted butter
  • 1 large egg
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • Fruits and whipped cream for decorating
  • Maple syrup (optional)

Instructions

  1. In a large mixing bowl, whisk together 1 cup flour, 1 tablespoon matcha powder, 2 teaspoons baking powder, and 1/4 teaspoon salt until fully combined.
  2. In a separate bowl, whisk together 1 cup milk, 2 tablespoons melted butter, 1 large egg, and 1 teaspoon vanilla extract until smooth and frothy.
  3. Pour the wet mixture into the dry ingredients. Gently whisk or fold until just incorporated, being careful not to overmix.
  4. Preheat a non-stick skillet over medium heat and lightly grease it with butter or vegetable oil.
  5. Scoop batter into the pan to make small, medium, and large circles. Cook for 2 to 3 minutes until bubbles form on top, then flip and cook for another minute until golden.
  6. Stack the pancakes largest to smallest to form a tree shape. Decorate with fruits, whipped cream, and powdered sugar as desired.

Notes

Ensure your butter is slightly cooled before mixing; do not overmix the batter to keep pancakes fluffy.
