Description
A delicious fusion of lasagna and garlic bread, perfect for family gatherings or a hearty dinner.
Ingredients
Scale
- 1 loaf Italian bread
- 1/2 cup unsalted butter, softened
- 1/2 cup Parmesan cheese, grated
- 1 teaspoon garlic salt
- 1/2 teaspoon Italian seasoning
- 1/2 pound ground beef
- 2 cups marinara sauce, divided
- 1 cup mozzarella cheese, shredded, divided
- 1 cup sharp cheddar cheese, shredded, divided
- Parsley, chopped for garnish (optional)
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
- Line a baking sheet with parchment paper. Slice the loaf of Italian bread lengthwise into two halves and place it cut side up on the baking sheet.
- In a small mixing bowl, combine softened butter, Parmesan cheese, garlic salt, and Italian seasoning. Mix until well combined.
- Generously spread the garlic butter mixture over the cut sides of the bread.
- In a skillet over medium heat, cook the ground beef until browned, about 5-7 minutes. Drain any excess grease and stir in 1 cup of marinara sauce. Let it simmer for 2-3 minutes.
- Top each half of the bread with the beef-marinara mixture and sprinkle half of the mozzarella and cheddar cheeses over the top.
- Transfer the baking sheet to the oven and bake for 12-14 minutes until the cheese is melted and bubbly. Optionally, broil for 2-3 minutes for a golden crust.
- Remove from the oven, garnish with fresh parsley, and serve with the remaining marinara sauce for dipping.
Notes
For a twist, try different cheeses or add veggies to the filling.
