Description

A delicious fusion of lasagna and garlic bread, perfect for family gatherings or a hearty dinner.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 loaf Italian bread
  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter, softened
  • 1/2 cup Parmesan cheese, grated
  • 1 teaspoon garlic salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon Italian seasoning
  • 1/2 pound ground beef
  • 2 cups marinara sauce, divided
  • 1 cup mozzarella cheese, shredded, divided
  • 1 cup sharp cheddar cheese, shredded, divided
  • Parsley, chopped for garnish (optional)

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. Line a baking sheet with parchment paper. Slice the loaf of Italian bread lengthwise into two halves and place it cut side up on the baking sheet.
  3. In a small mixing bowl, combine softened butter, Parmesan cheese, garlic salt, and Italian seasoning. Mix until well combined.
  4. Generously spread the garlic butter mixture over the cut sides of the bread.
  5. In a skillet over medium heat, cook the ground beef until browned, about 5-7 minutes. Drain any excess grease and stir in 1 cup of marinara sauce. Let it simmer for 2-3 minutes.
  6. Top each half of the bread with the beef-marinara mixture and sprinkle half of the mozzarella and cheddar cheeses over the top.
  7. Transfer the baking sheet to the oven and bake for 12-14 minutes until the cheese is melted and bubbly. Optionally, broil for 2-3 minutes for a golden crust.
  8. Remove from the oven, garnish with fresh parsley, and serve with the remaining marinara sauce for dipping.

Notes

For a twist, try different cheeses or add veggies to the filling.
