Description

A mesmerizing blend of spicy, sweet, and smoky flavors, Korean Fire Spicy Chicken (Dakgalbi) is a delightful comfort dish perfect for any gathering.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 lb chicken thighs, skinless and boneless
  • 2 tablespoons vegetable oil
  • 2 tablespoons gochugaru (Korean chili flakes)
  • 2 tablespoons soy sauce
  • 1 tablespoon sugar
  • 1 tablespoon garlic, minced
  • 1 tablespoon ginger, minced
  • 1 tablespoon sesame oil
  • 2 green onions, chopped
  • Sesame seeds for garnish (optional)

Instructions

  1. In a large mixing bowl, combine gochugaru, soy sauce, sugar, minced garlic, minced ginger, and sesame oil. Mix well to create a smooth marinade.
  2. Add chicken thighs to the marinade, ensuring they are well coated. Cover and let marinate for at least 30 minutes.
  3. Heat vegetable oil in a skillet over medium-high heat until shimmering.
  4. Add the marinated chicken to the skillet, cooking for about 10-15 minutes, turning occasionally until the chicken is cooked through and the sauce thickens.
  5. Garnish with chopped green onions and a sprinkle of sesame seeds before serving.

Notes

Let the chicken sit at room temperature for 15-20 minutes before cooking for even cooking.
