Description

Savory, sweet marinated beef that brings family and friends together for a delicious meal.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 lb beef (ribeye or sirloin, thinly sliced)
  • 1/4 cup soy sauce (low-sodium recommended)
  • 2 tablespoons sugar (brown sugar preferred)
  • 2 tablespoons sesame oil (toasted for extra flavor)
  • 3 cloves garlic (minced)
  • 1 tablespoon ginger (grated)
  • 1/4 cup green onions (chopped; set some aside for garnish)
  • 1 tablespoon sesame seeds (optional)
  • Pepper to taste

Instructions

  1. In a large mixing bowl, combine soy sauce, sugar, sesame oil, minced garlic, grated ginger, and a dash of freshly cracked black pepper. Whisk until the sugar is dissolved.
  2. Add thinly sliced beef, ensuring it’s well coated. Cover and refrigerate for at least 30 minutes (or up to 2 hours).
  3. Preheat a grill or skillet over high heat, adding a splash of oil if using a skillet.
  4. Add marinated beef in a single layer and cook for 5-7 minutes until browned and cooked through.
  5. Remove from heat, garnish with green onions and sesame seeds, and serve over rice or in lettuce wraps.

Notes

Allow beef to come to room temperature before marinating for even cooking. High-quality ingredients elevate the flavors.
