A delightful pasta dish baked to perfection, combining flavorful Italian sausage with penne pasta, marinara sauce, and melted cheese.

- 12 oz penne pasta
- 1 lb Italian sausage
- 2 cups marinara sauce
- 1 cup mozzarella cheese, shredded
- 1/2 cup Parmesan cheese, grated
- 1 cup ricotta cheese
- 2 tbsp extra virgin olive oil
- 3 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 tsp Italian seasoning
- Salt to taste
- Pepper to taste
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C).
- Cook the penne in boiling salted water until al dente, drain and set aside.
- In a skillet, heat olive oil and sauté garlic for 30 seconds. Add the Italian sausage and cook until browned (5-7 minutes).
- Stir in marinara sauce and Italian seasoning; let simmer for 2-3 minutes.
- In a mixing bowl, combine cooked penne, sausage mixture, ricotta cheese, half of the mozzarella, salt, and pepper.
- Transfer the mixture to a greased 9×13 baking dish. Top with remaining mozzarella and Parmesan cheese.
- Bake for 25-30 minutes until the cheese is bubbling and golden brown.
- Let cool for 5 minutes before serving.
Notes
Leftovers can be stored in the fridge for 3-4 days and can be frozen for up to 3 months. Thaw overnight for best results.
