Description

Ingredients

  • 2 cups fresh plums, pitted and chopped
  • 1/2 cup sugar
  • 1 tablespoon cornstarch
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1 package refrigerated pie crusts
  • 1 egg (for egg wash)
  • 1 tablespoon milk (for egg wash)
  • Cinnamon sugar (optional, for topping)

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C).
  2. Combine the chopped plums, sugar, cornstarch, and vanilla extract in a mixing bowl. Gently mix until evenly coated and set aside.
  3. Roll out the pie crusts on a floured surface to about 1/8 inch thick. Cut them into squares of approximately 4 inches.
  4. Spoon the plum mixture onto one side of each square, ensuring a generous but manageable amount.
  5. Fold the other side over to create a triangle shape, pressing the edges firmly to seal. Use a fork to crimp the edges for an elevated look and a better seal.
  6. Whisk together the egg and milk for the egg wash; brush it over each turnover.
  7. Sprinkle with cinnamon sugar if desired for an extra touch of sweetness and crunch.
  8. Bake for 20-25 minutes, or until they are golden-brown and your kitchen is filled with irresistible aromas.
  9. Allow to cool slightly before serving.
