Description

Indulgent cinnamon rolls infused with rich cocoa and filled with chocolate chips, perfect for a cozy breakfast or special treat.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1/4 cup cocoa powder
  • 1/4 cup sugar
  • 1 packet instant yeast (2 1/4 teaspoons)
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 3/4 cup warm milk (about 110°F)
  • 1/4 cup melted butter
  • 1 egg
  • 1/2 cup chocolate chips
  • 1 tablespoon ground cinnamon
  • For the Glaze:
  • 1/2 cup powdered sugar
  • 2 tablespoons cocoa powder
  • 12 tablespoons milk

Instructions

  1. Mix Dry Ingredients: In a large bowl, whisk together flour, cocoa powder, sugar, yeast, and salt until combined.
  2. Combine Wet Ingredients: In a separate bowl, whisk warm milk, melted butter, and egg. Pour wet into dry ingredients and mix until a dough forms.
  3. Knead the Dough: Knead on a lightly floured surface for 5 minutes until smooth and elastic.
  4. Let it Rise: Place in a greased bowl, cover, and let rise in a warm place until doubled in size (about 1 hour).
  5. Preheat the Oven: Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
  6. Roll Out the Dough: Roll the dough into a rectangle about 1/4 inch thick. Brush with melted butter.
  7. Add Filling: Sprinkle sugar, cinnamon, and chocolate chips evenly over the dough.
  8. Form the Rolls: Roll tightly from one edge and cut into 12 pieces.
  9. Arrange in Baking Dish: Place rolls in a greased dish, ensuring they are snug.
  10. Bake: Bake for 20-25 minutes until golden brown.
  11. Prepare the Glaze: Mix powdered sugar, cocoa powder, and milk until smooth.
  12. Glaze and Serve: Drizzle over warm rolls and enjoy!

Notes

For best results, make sure to not skip the rising process for light, fluffy rolls. Store any leftovers in an airtight container.
