- 2 cups all-purpose flour
- 1/4 cup sugar
- 1 packet of instant yeast (2 1/4 teaspoons)
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1/2 cup milk
- 1/4 cup butter
- 1 egg
- 1/2 cup chocolate chips
- 1/2 cup mini marshmallows
- 1/2 cup powdered sugar
- 1 tablespoon cocoa powder
- 2 tablespoons milk (for icing)
Instructions
- In a large mixing bowl, whisk together the flour, sugar, yeast, and salt until well combined.
- In a saucepan, gently heat the milk and butter until warm, about 5 minutes on low heat.
- Pour the warm milk mixture into the dry ingredients, and add the egg. Stir until a dough begins to form.
- Transfer the dough onto a floured surface and knead for about 5-7 minutes until smooth and elastic.
- Place the dough back in the bowl, cover it with a clean cloth, and let it rise in a warm place for about 1 hour, or until doubled in size.
- Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C) while the dough is rising.
- Once risen, punch the dough down and roll it out on a floured surface into a rectangle.
- Sprinkle chocolate chips and mini marshmallows over the rolled-out dough.
- Carefully roll the dough up tightly from one end to the other, forming a log.
- Use a sharp knife or dental floss to cut the log into 12 equal rolls.
- Place the rolls in a greased baking dish, cover, and let them rise for another 30 minutes.
- Bake for 15-20 minutes or until golden brown and puffy.
- While the rolls are baking, whisk together the powdered sugar, cocoa powder, and milk until smooth.
- Drizzle the icing over the warm rolls and serve while soft and gooey.
Notes
These rolls are best enjoyed fresh. Can be stored at room temperature for 2 days or refrigerated for up to a week.
