- 1/2 cup cornstarch
- 2 tablespoons vegetable oil
- 1/2 cup honey
- 1/4 cup soy sauce
- 1 tablespoon black pepper
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 tablespoon ginger, minced
- Salt to taste
- Green onions, for garnish
Instructions
- In a large bowl, toss the chicken pieces in cornstarch until they’re well coated.
- In a large skillet, heat the vegetable oil over medium heat.
- Add the chicken to the hot skillet and cook for about 5-7 minutes, stirring occasionally, until golden brown and crispy.
- While the chicken is cooking, mix together honey, soy sauce, black pepper, garlic, and ginger in a separate bowl.
- Pour the sauce over the crispy chicken in the skillet and stir to coat.
- Cook for an additional 2-3 minutes, allowing the sauce to thicken slightly.
- Add salt to taste, adjusting based on your preference. Then remove from heat.
- Serve hot, garnished with sliced green onions if desired.
Notes
Consider letting the chicken come to room temperature before cooking for even cooking. Fresh herbs can elevate the dish; try adding cilantro.
