  • 1/2 cup cornstarch
  • 2 tablespoons vegetable oil
  • 1/2 cup honey
  • 1/4 cup soy sauce
  • 1 tablespoon black pepper
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 tablespoon ginger, minced
  • Salt to taste
  • Green onions, for garnish

Instructions

  1. In a large bowl, toss the chicken pieces in cornstarch until they’re well coated.
  2. In a large skillet, heat the vegetable oil over medium heat.
  3. Add the chicken to the hot skillet and cook for about 5-7 minutes, stirring occasionally, until golden brown and crispy.
  4. While the chicken is cooking, mix together honey, soy sauce, black pepper, garlic, and ginger in a separate bowl.
  5. Pour the sauce over the crispy chicken in the skillet and stir to coat.
  6. Cook for an additional 2-3 minutes, allowing the sauce to thicken slightly.
  7. Add salt to taste, adjusting based on your preference. Then remove from heat.
  8. Serve hot, garnished with sliced green onions if desired.

Consider letting the chicken come to room temperature before cooking for even cooking. Fresh herbs can elevate the dish; try adding cilantro.
