Description

Irresistible cookies combining the rich flavor of butter, sweet honey, chewy figs, and crunchy walnuts.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 cup unsalted butter, softened
  • 1/2 cup powdered sugar
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 cup chopped dried figs
  • 1/2 cup chopped walnuts
  • 1/4 cup honey

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. Cream together the softened butter and powdered sugar until light and fluffy (about 3-4 minutes).
  3. Stir in the vanilla extract.
  4. In a separate bowl, whisk together the flour and salt, then gradually add to the butter mixture.
  5. Fold in the chopped figs and walnuts.
  6. Divide the dough into two portions, shape into logs, wrap in plastic wrap, and chill for at least 30 minutes.
  7. Slice logs into 1/4 inch thick rounds and place on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper.
  8. Drizzle honey over each cookie.
  9. Bake for 12-15 minutes or until edges are lightly golden. Allow to cool before serving.

Notes

Chill the dough for better cookie shape and texture. Store in an airtight container for up to a week.
