Description

Homemade peppermint patties are a delightful candy combining a soft, minty filling with a rich chocolate coating, perfect for the holiday season.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 cup powdered sugar
  • 2 tablespoons unsalted butter, softened
  • 1/2 teaspoon peppermint extract
  • 12 tablespoons milk
  • 8 ounces dark chocolate (60% cocoa or higher)

Instructions

  1. In a mixing bowl, combine powdered sugar, softened butter, peppermint extract, and 1 tablespoon of milk. Mix until smooth. Add more milk if needed for consistency.
  2. Roll mixture into small balls and flatten them into disks on a parchment-lined tray.
  3. Refrigerate the disks for about 30 minutes until firm.
  4. Melt dark chocolate in a double boiler or microwave, stirring until smooth.
  5. Dip each peppermint disk into the melted chocolate and let excess drip off.
  6. Place dipped patties on wax paper to set and cool completely.
  7. Store in an airtight container for freshness.

Notes

For a crunch, consider adding crushed peppermint candy on top before the chocolate sets.
