- 9 lasagna noodles (oven-ready)
- 1 pound lean ground beef
- 15 ounces whole milk ricotta cheese
- 2 cups shredded mozzarella cheese
- 1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese
- 25 ounces marinara sauce
- 1 large egg
- 3 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 onion, chopped
- 1 tablespoon Italian seasoning
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 1 teaspoon black pepper
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C).
- Cook the lasagna noodles according to package instructions.
- Sauté onion and garlic in olive oil until soft. Add ground beef and cook until browned; drain fat.
- Stir in marinara sauce and Italian seasoning, simmer for 5-10 minutes.
- In a bowl, mix ricotta cheese, egg, salt, and pepper.
- In a baking dish, layer meat sauce, noodles, ricotta mixture, and mozzarella. Repeat layers, finishing with meat sauce and cheeses.
- Cover with foil and bake for 25 minutes; remove foil and bake for another 15 minutes.
- Let it sit for 10 minutes before slicing and serving.
Notes
For optimal flavor, let the lasagna rest before slicing. It pairs beautifully with a fresh salad and garlic bread.
