Description

Delicious homemade egg rolls filled with savory ingredients and crispy on the outside, perfect for any occasion.


Ingredients

  • 1 pound ground beef (or chicken, shrimp, or vegetables)
  • 1 cup finely shredded cabbage
  • ½ cup shredded carrots
  • ¼ cup chopped green onions
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 tablespoon soy sauce
  • 1 tablespoon oyster sauce
  • 1 teaspoon sesame oil
  • ½ teaspoon ground ginger
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • 1012 egg roll wrappers
  • Water (for sealing)
  • Oil for frying

Instructions

  1. In a large skillet, heat a small amount of oil over medium heat. Add the minced garlic and sauté until fragrant.
  2. Add the ground beef (or chicken, shrimp, etc.) to the skillet, breaking it apart, and cook until browned.
  3. Stir in the finely shredded cabbage, shredded carrots, and chopped green onions, cooking for 2-3 minutes.
  4. Add soy sauce, oyster sauce, sesame oil, ginger, salt, and pepper. Stir and remove from heat; cool to room temperature.
  5. Take one egg roll wrapper and lay it on a flat surface with one corner pointing towards you. Spoon about 2-3 tablespoons of the cooled filling into the center.
  6. Fold the bottom corner over the filling, followed by the two side corners, then roll tightly and seal with water.
  7. In a large pot, heat about 2 inches of oil over medium-high heat. Fry the egg rolls in batches until golden brown and crispy.
  8. Use a slotted spoon to remove the egg rolls from the oil and drain on paper towels.
  9. Serve hot with your favorite dipping sauce.
