Ingredients

  • 12 ounces fresh cranberries
  • 1 cup Zinfandel wine
  • 1 cup sugar
  • 1 orange, zested and juiced
  • 1 cinnamon stick
  • 1/4 teaspoon ground ginger
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt

Instructions

  1. Combine Zinfandel, sugar, orange juice, orange zest, cinnamon stick, ginger, and salt in saucepan.
  2. Bring to boil over medium heat, stirring until sugar dissolves.
  3. Add cranberries and return to boil.
  4. Reduce heat and simmer 10-15 minutes until cranberries burst and sauce thickens.
  5. Remove from heat and discard cinnamon stick.
  6. Cool completely before serving or storing.

  • Sauce will thicken further as it cools.
  • Adjust sugar to taste based on cranberry tartness.
