Ingredients

- 5 cups water
- 10 dried hibiscus flowers
- 3/4 cup sugar
- Ice cubes (for serving)
- Fresh mint or basil (for garnish)
Instructions
- Bring the water to a gentle boil in a medium-sized pot over medium heat.
- Add the hibiscus flowers to the boiling water.
- Stir in the sugar gently until dissolved.
- Simmer the mixture on low heat for 30 minutes.
- Strain the tea into a pitcher and discard the flowers.
- Cool the tea to room temperature and chill in the refrigerator.
- Serve the drink over ice and garnish with mint or basil leaves.
Notes
Store in an airtight container in the fridge for up to 5 days. Can be made a day in advance for parties.
