- 1 cup packed brown sugar
- 1 teaspoon baking powder
- ½ cup unsweetened cocoa powder
- 1 cup cold unsalted butter
- 1 egg
- 2 teaspoons vanilla extract
- 19 oz cherry pie filling
- 6–7 tablespoons milk
- 1 cup semisweet chocolate chips
- 1 cup white chocolate chips
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C) and prepare a 9×13-inch baking dish by greasing it.
- In a bowl, mix flour, brown sugar, baking powder, and cocoa powder.
- Cut the butter into the dry ingredients until crumbly.
- Whisk together the egg and vanilla, then mix with the dry ingredients.
- Add milk gradually to achieve the right dough consistency.
- Reserve 1 cup of the dough, then press the remaining dough into the prepared baking dish.
- Spread the cherry filling over the dough base.
- Crumble the reserved dough mixed with chocolate chips over the cherry filling.
- Bake for 30-35 minutes until edges are set.
- Cool to room temperature, then refrigerate for 2 hours before cutting.
Notes
Timing is key; don’t over-bake. You can substitute cherries with your favorite jam or fruit.
