Ingredients

- 1 lb ground beef
- 1 onion, chopped
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 can diced tomatoes (14.5 oz)
- 1 cup beef broth
- 2 tbsp chili powder
- 1 tsp cumin
- Salt and pepper to taste
- Toppings: Shredded cheese, sour cream, and sliced green onions
Instructions
- In a large pot, heat a splash of oil over medium heat and add the ground beef. Cook until well-browned, about 5-7 minutes.
- Add the chopped onion and minced garlic. Cook until softened, approximately 5 minutes.
- Stir in the diced tomatoes (with juice), beef broth, chili powder, cumin, salt, and pepper.
- Raise the heat to high and bring the mixture to a soft boil.
- Lower the heat to a simmer and cook uncovered for about 20 minutes, stirring occasionally.
- Ladle the chili into bowls and serve with your favorite toppings.
Notes
Store leftovers in an airtight container in the fridge for up to 4 days or freeze for up to 3 months.
