Description

A flavorful and easy-to-make appetizer featuring grilled shishito peppers tossed in sesame oil, served with a creamy dipping sauce.


Ingredients

Scale
  • 20 shishito peppers
  • 3 tsp sesame oil
  • 1/4 cup mayonnaise
  • 1 tsp sesame oil (additional)
  • 1 tsp sambal (or sriracha, or other hot sauce)
  • 2 tsp lime juice
  • Kosher or sea salt
  • Toasted sesame seeds for garnish

Instructions

  1. Preheat your grill to medium-high heat (375°F to 450°F).
  2. In a small bowl, whisk together mayonnaise, 1 tsp sesame oil, sambal, and lime juice for the dipping sauce and refrigerate.
  3. Toss shishito peppers in a mixing bowl with 3 tsp sesame oil until well coated.
  4. Place peppers on the grill over direct heat and grill for about 5 minutes, turning frequently until charred and blistered.
  5. Remove grilled peppers, sprinkle with salt, garnish with sesame seeds, and serve hot with the dipping sauce.

Notes

Best enjoyed fresh; can be stored in an airtight container in the fridge for up to 3 days.
