A flavorful and easy-to-make appetizer featuring grilled shishito peppers tossed in sesame oil, served with a creamy dipping sauce.

- 20 shishito peppers
- 3 tsp sesame oil
- 1/4 cup mayonnaise
- 1 tsp sesame oil (additional)
- 1 tsp sambal (or sriracha, or other hot sauce)
- 2 tsp lime juice
- Kosher or sea salt
- Toasted sesame seeds for garnish
Instructions
- Preheat your grill to medium-high heat (375°F to 450°F).
- In a small bowl, whisk together mayonnaise, 1 tsp sesame oil, sambal, and lime juice for the dipping sauce and refrigerate.
- Toss shishito peppers in a mixing bowl with 3 tsp sesame oil until well coated.
- Place peppers on the grill over direct heat and grill for about 5 minutes, turning frequently until charred and blistered.
- Remove grilled peppers, sprinkle with salt, garnish with sesame seeds, and serve hot with the dipping sauce.
Notes
Best enjoyed fresh; can be stored in an airtight container in the fridge for up to 3 days.
