Description

A comforting twist on the classic Green Bean Casserole featuring fresh green beans, sautéed mushrooms, and crispy onion strings.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 2 tablespoons unsalted butter
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1/2 cup onion, finely diced
  • 8 ounces button mushrooms, sliced
  • 3 cups fresh green beans
  • 3 cups low-sodium chicken broth
  • 1 (10.75 ounce) can low-sodium cream of mushroom soup
  • 1/4 cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
  • Crispy onion strings

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. In a large skillet, melt the butter over medium heat. Add the onion and mushrooms, sauté until tender (5-7 minutes). Add garlic and cook for an additional 1-2 minutes.
  3. In a medium saucepan, boil the green beans in chicken broth for about 8 minutes until crisp-tender. Drain.
  4. In a large bowl, combine the cream of mushroom soup, sautéed mixture, drained green beans, Parmesan, salt, and pepper. Mix well.
  5. Transfer to a greased baking dish, top with crispy onion strings, and bake for 20 minutes until hot and golden.

Notes

Using fresh ingredients will enhance the flavor; avoid canned alternatives when possible.
