- 1 teaspoon baking soda
- ½ teaspoon salt
- 1 cup milk
- 1 cup toffee sauce (for topping)
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease a 9×9 inch baking dish.
- Cream together the softened butter, brown sugar, and granulated sugar in a large mixing bowl until light and fluffy, about 2-3 minutes.
- Add molasses and milk to the mixture, mixing until just combined.
- In a separate bowl, whisk together flour, ginger, cinnamon, cloves, baking powder, baking soda, and salt.
- Gradually fold the dry ingredients into the wet mixture until just combined.
- Pour the batter into the prepared baking dish, spreading it evenly.
- Bake in the preheated oven for about 30-35 minutes, or until a toothpick comes out clean or with a few moist crumbs.
- Allow to cool for 10 minutes before serving warm, drizzled with toffee sauce.
