Description

Delightful, soft, and chewy Gingerbread Crinkle Cookies with a crinkled surface dusted with powdered sugar, perfect for the holiday season.


Ingredients

  • 2 teaspoons baking soda
  • 1 teaspoon ground ginger
  • 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • 1/2 teaspoon ground cloves
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter, softened
  • 1/2 cup granulated sugar
  • 1/2 cup brown sugar, packed
  • 1 large egg
  • 1/4 cup molasses
  • Powdered sugar for dusting

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease or line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  2. In a bowl, whisk together the flour, baking soda, spices, and salt until well combined.
  3. In another bowl, beat the softened butter, granulated sugar, and brown sugar together until creamy and light in color—about 2-3 minutes.
  4. Add the egg and molasses, mixing until fully combined.
  5. Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet mixture, mixing until just combined.
  6. Scoop out tablespoon-sized balls of dough, roll them in powdered sugar, and place them on the prepared baking sheet.
  7. Bake for 10-12 minutes, or until the edges are firm but the centers are soft.
  8. Allow to cool on the baking sheet for a few minutes before transferring them to a wire rack to cool completely.

Notes

For perfectly round cookies, roll the dough balls again after placing them on the sheet. Store cookies in an airtight container for up to a week.
