Description

A comforting bowl of garlic noodles flavored with butter, garlic, and umami sauces, perfect for quick meals.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 600 g cooked egg noodles
  • 8 cloves garlic, minced
  • 3 Tbsp unsalted butter
  • 1 Tbsp olive oil
  • 1 Tbsp oyster sauce
  • 1 Tbsp Golden Mountain Sauce or soy sauce
  • 1 Tbsp fish sauce
  • 35 g finely grated Parmesan cheese
  • Freshly ground black or white pepper, to taste
  • 1 lemon, optional
  • 1 green onion, chopped

Instructions

  1. Prepare the Noodles: If using pre-cooked egg noodles, rinse under cold water and drain. If using raw noodles, cook according to package instructions, drain, and set aside.
  2. Make the Garlic Paste: Pound minced garlic into a rough paste using a mortar and pestle or crush with a knife.
  3. Mix the Sauces: In a small bowl, combine oyster sauce, fish sauce, and Golden Mountain sauce.
  4. Infuse the Garlic: Heat olive oil and butter in a wok over low heat. Add minced garlic, stirring until fragrant but not browned (about 1-2 minutes).
  5. Add the Noodles: Toss in the prepared noodles along with sauce mixture. Heat to medium and add black pepper. Toss until noodles are hot and sauce absorbed (about 3-5 minutes).
  6. Finishing Touches: Remove from heat, stir in Parmesan cheese and lemon juice if using.
  7. Plate and Garnish: Serve hot, garnished with chopped green onions and black pepper. Pair with a lemon wedge if desired.

Notes

For a vegetarian version, substitute the fish sauce with extra soy sauce. Ensure garlic is not burnt for best flavor.
