Ingredients

  • 1 cup cake flour
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1/2 teaspoon almond extract

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. Beat the egg whites in a large mixing bowl until foamy, about 1-2 minutes.
  3. Gradually add the sugar while beating on high speed until stiff peaks form, approximately 4-5 minutes.
  4. Sift the cake flour and salt into a separate bowl.
  5. Gently fold the flour mixture into the egg whites in three additions.
  6. Add the vanilla and almond extracts, folding gently until combined.
  7. Stir in the colorful sprinkles until evenly dispersed.
  8. Pour the batter into an ungreased angel food cake pan.
  9. Bake for 30-35 minutes, until golden brown and springs back when touched.
  10. Invert the cake pan to cool before removing the cake.
