- 4 cups Fritos
- 1 cup caramel
- 1 cup chocolate chips
- 1/2 cup chopped nuts (optional)
- A pinch of sea salt
Instructions
- Prepare Your Baking Dish: Line a 9×13 inch baking dish with parchment paper and preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
- Melt the Caramel: In a small saucepan, melt the caramel over low heat, stirring constantly until smooth (5-7 minutes).
- Mix Fritos and Nuts: In a large mixing bowl, combine Fritos and nuts (if using), then pour the warm caramel over them and gently toss until evenly coated (2-3 minutes).
- Spread into the Baking Dish: Pour the coated Fritos into the prepared baking dish and press down evenly. Bake for 10-12 minutes until firm.
- Melt Your Chocolate: While the Frito mix bakes, melt the chocolate using a microwave or double boiler until completely smooth.
- Top It Off: Once the Frito mixture is out of the oven, drizzle the melted chocolate over the top and sprinkle with sea salt.
- Cool and Slice: Allow to cool at room temperature for 15-20 minutes before slicing into squares.
