Delightful sandwiches filled with creamy cheesecake and fresh strawberries, coated in a crispy exterior.

- 8 thick slices of brioche or challah bread
- 2 tablespoons unsalted butter, for frying
- 4 ounces cream cheese, softened
- 2 tablespoons powdered sugar, plus extra for dusting
- 1/2 cup fresh strawberries, thinly sliced
- 1/4 cup strawberry preserves
- 2 large eggs
- 3 tablespoons whole milk
Instructions
- In a mixing bowl, combine 4 ounces of softened cream cheese and 2 tablespoons of powdered sugar. Mix until smooth and fluffy.
- Lay out 4 slices of brioche. Spread a layer of cream cheese on each, add sliced strawberries and 1 tablespoon of strawberry preserves per sandwich. Top with remaining slices.
- In a shallow dish, beat 2 large eggs and whisk in 3 tablespoons of milk.
- Dip each sandwich into the egg mixture, coating both sides evenly.
- In a skillet, melt 1 tablespoon of butter over medium heat. Fry 2 sandwiches at a time for 2–3 minutes per side until golden brown.
- Transfer cooked sandwiches to a paper towel-lined plate. Dust with powdered sugar and serve immediately.
Notes
Use fresh strawberries for best taste. Leftovers can be stored in the fridge for up to 2 days.
