Description

Ingredients

  • 4 cups fresh peaches, sliced
  • 1 cup sugar (divided)
  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1 teaspoon baking powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1 cup milk
  • 1/2 cup butter, melted
  • 1 teaspoon cinnamon (optional)

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. Mix the sliced peaches with 1/2 cup of sugar in a bowl and let sit for a few minutes.
  3. Whisk together flour, baking powder, salt, remaining sugar, and optional cinnamon in another bowl.
  4. Stir in the milk and melted butter until the mixture is smooth.
  5. Pour the batter into a greased 9×13 inch baking dish.
  6. Spoon the peach mixture over the batter, without stirring.
  7. Bake for 30-40 minutes until golden brown and bubbly.
  8. Enjoy warm, optionally topped with whipped cream or ice cream.

Notes

For maximum flavor, use ripe, in-season peaches. To reheat, cover with foil and warm in the oven.
