- 4 cups fresh peaches, sliced
- 1 cup sugar (divided)
- 1 cup all-purpose flour
- 1 teaspoon baking powder
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1 cup milk
- 1/2 cup butter, melted
- 1 teaspoon cinnamon (optional)
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C).
- Mix the sliced peaches with 1/2 cup of sugar in a bowl and let sit for a few minutes.
- Whisk together flour, baking powder, salt, remaining sugar, and optional cinnamon in another bowl.
- Stir in the milk and melted butter until the mixture is smooth.
- Pour the batter into a greased 9×13 inch baking dish.
- Spoon the peach mixture over the batter, without stirring.
- Bake for 30-40 minutes until golden brown and bubbly.
- Enjoy warm, optionally topped with whipped cream or ice cream.
Notes
For maximum flavor, use ripe, in-season peaches. To reheat, cover with foil and warm in the oven.
