  • 12 large egg whites, at room temperature

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. In a bowl, sift together cake flour, 3/4 cup of sugar, and salt. Set aside.
  3. In a mixing bowl, beat the egg whites until frothy.
  4. Add cream of tartar and beat until soft peaks form.
  5. Gradually add the remaining sugar, beating until stiff peaks form.
  6. Gently fold in the flour mixture and vanilla extract until just combined.
  7. Pour the batter into an ungreased tube pan.
  8. Bake for 30-35 minutes or until golden brown.
  9. Invert the pan and cool completely before removing.
  10. Serve with fresh berries and whipped cream.
