- 1/3 cup granulated sugar

- 1 egg
- 1/2 cup eggnog, plus more for brushing
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- For the glaze:
- 1/2 cup powdered sugar
- 1 to 2 tablespoons eggnog
- Pinch of nutmeg for garnish
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 400°F (204°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
- In a large mixing bowl, whisk together flour, baking powder, salt, nutmeg, cinnamon, and sugar.
- Add diced cold butter and mix until it resembles coarse crumbs.
- In a separate bowl, whisk together egg, eggnog, and vanilla extract.
- Pour wet ingredients into dry mixture and stir until just combined to form a slightly sticky dough.
- Turn out the dough onto a floured surface, press into an 8-inch circle, and cut into 8 wedges.
- Brush tops with additional eggnog and bake for 18 to 22 minutes until golden brown.
- Allow the scones to cool on a wire rack and glaze with a mixture of powdered sugar and eggnog.
- Enjoy warm or at room temperature.
Notes
For a lighter texture, measure flour by spooning it into the cup. Ensure butter is cold for flaky scones.
