Festive eggnog cream puffs filled with rich, spiced cream, perfect for holiday gatherings.


Ingredients

  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter
  • 1 cup water
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 4 large eggs
  • 2 cups cold heavy whipping cream
  • 1/2 cup eggnog
  • 1/4 cup powdered sugar
  • 1 (3.4 oz) box instant vanilla pudding mix
  • 1 tsp ground nutmeg
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • Powdered sugar, for dusting

Instructions

  1. In a medium saucepan, combine butter, water, and salt. Bring to a boil over medium heat, ensuring the butter melts.
  2. Remove from heat and stir in flour until a ball forms.
  3. Allow the dough to cool for 5 minutes, then beat in eggs one at a time.
  4. Preheat oven to 400°F (200°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment.
  5. Pipe mounds of dough onto the prepared sheet about 2 inches apart.
  6. Bake for 25 to 30 minutes until golden brown and puffy.
  7. Cool puffs on a wire rack and slice off the tops.
  8. In a bowl, mix cream, eggnog, powdered sugar, pudding mix, nutmeg, and vanilla; beat until whipped.
  9. Fill puffs with cream mixture and replace tops.
  10. Dust with powdered sugar before serving.

Notes

For best results, use high-quality ingredients. Can be made gluten-free with a suitable flour substitute.
