- 1/2 cup unsalted butter
- 1 cup water
- 1/2 tsp salt
- 1 cup all-purpose flour
- 4 large eggs
- 2 cups cold heavy whipping cream
- 1/2 cup eggnog
- 1/4 cup powdered sugar
- 1 (3.4 oz) box instant vanilla pudding mix
- 1 tsp ground nutmeg
- 1 tsp vanilla extract
- Powdered sugar, for dusting
Instructions
- In a medium saucepan, combine butter, water, and salt. Bring to a boil over medium heat, ensuring the butter melts.
- Remove from heat and stir in flour until a ball forms.
- Allow the dough to cool for 5 minutes, then beat in eggs one at a time.
- Preheat oven to 400°F (200°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment.
- Pipe mounds of dough onto the prepared sheet about 2 inches apart.
- Bake for 25 to 30 minutes until golden brown and puffy.
- Cool puffs on a wire rack and slice off the tops.
- In a bowl, mix cream, eggnog, powdered sugar, pudding mix, nutmeg, and vanilla; beat until whipped.
- Fill puffs with cream mixture and replace tops.
- Dust with powdered sugar before serving.
Notes
For best results, use high-quality ingredients. Can be made gluten-free with a suitable flour substitute.
