Ingredients

- 170g unsalted butter
- 115g soft brown or demerara sugar
- 55g golden syrup
- 225g porridge oats
- 50g plain flour
- Pinch of salt
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 180°C.
- Grease and line an 8-inch square baking tin with parchment paper.
- Melt the butter, sugar, and golden syrup in a large pan over low heat, stirring gently until smooth.
- Stir in the flour, salt, and oats until fully incorporated.
- Press the mixture firmly into the prepared tin.
- Bake for 25–30 minutes until golden and firm to the touch.
- Cool slightly and lightly score the top into bars.
- Once cooled, slice fully and enjoy.
Notes
Store in an airtight container for up to a week. They freeze well; layer with parchment paper to prevent sticking.
