Description

A comforting dish of juicy beef patties smothered in rich mushroom gravy, perfect for family dinners.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 pound ground beef
  • 1/4 cup breadcrumbs
  • 1 egg
  • 1 onion, finely chopped
  • 1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • 8 ounces mushrooms, sliced
  • 2 cups beef broth
  • 2 tablespoons flour
  • 1 tablespoon soy sauce

Instructions

  1. In a large mixing bowl, combine ground beef, breadcrumbs, egg, half of the chopped onion, Worcestershire sauce, salt, and pepper. Mix well and form into 4 patties.
  2. Heat olive oil in a skillet over medium heat. Cook patties until browned on both sides, about 5 minutes per side. Remove from skillet.
  3. Add remaining onion and sliced mushrooms to the skillet. Sauté for 5-7 minutes until tender.
  4. Sprinkle flour over the mushroom mixture and stir. Gradually add beef broth and soy sauce, whisking until thickened, about 3-5 minutes.
  5. Return patties to the skillet, cover, and simmer for 10 minutes. Serve hot with gravy.

Notes

For gluten-free options, substitute breadcrumbs with crushed gluten-free crackers or oats. Avoid overmixing the beef to keep patties tender.
