Ingredients

- 1 pound ground beef
- 1/4 cup breadcrumbs
- 1 egg
- 1 onion, finely chopped
- 1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce
- Salt and pepper to taste
- 2 tablespoons olive oil
- 8 ounces mushrooms, sliced
- 2 cups beef broth
- 2 tablespoons flour
- 1 tablespoon soy sauce
Instructions
- In a large mixing bowl, combine ground beef, breadcrumbs, egg, half of the chopped onion, Worcestershire sauce, salt, and pepper. Mix well and form into 4 patties.
- Heat olive oil in a skillet over medium heat. Cook patties until browned on both sides, about 5 minutes per side. Remove from skillet.
- Add remaining onion and sliced mushrooms to the skillet. Sauté for 5-7 minutes until tender.
- Sprinkle flour over the mushroom mixture and stir. Gradually add beef broth and soy sauce, whisking until thickened, about 3-5 minutes.
- Return patties to the skillet, cover, and simmer for 10 minutes. Serve hot with gravy.
Notes
For gluten-free options, substitute breadcrumbs with crushed gluten-free crackers or oats. Avoid overmixing the beef to keep patties tender.
