Ingredients

  • 1 large can (29 oz) sliced peaches, reserved syrup
  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • 2 teaspoons baking powder
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter, melted
  • 3/4 cup milk
  • 1/2 teaspoon cinnamon (optional)
  • 1/4 teaspoon nutmeg (optional)
  • 1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract (optional)

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. Melt the butter in a 9×13-inch baking dish in the oven.
  3. In a mixing bowl, combine the flour, sugar, baking powder, and salt.
  4. Stir in the milk and optional vanilla extract.
  5. Pour the batter over the melted butter without stirring.
  6. Spoon the reserved peaches and syrup over the batter without stirring.
  7. Sprinkle cinnamon and nutmeg on top if desired.
  8. Bake for 40 to 45 minutes until golden brown.
  9. Cool for 10 minutes before serving.

Notes

Serve warm with vanilla ice cream or whipped cream. Refrigerate leftovers for up to a week.
