  • 1/4 teaspoon ground nutmeg

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. In a large bowl, whisk together flour, cocoa powder, baking powder, salt, cinnamon, and nutmeg.
  3. In a separate bowl, cream together softened butter, granulated sugar, and brown sugar until smooth and fluffy.
  4. Beat in the egg and vanilla extract until well combined.
  5. Gradually add the dry ingredient mixture to the wet mixture, stirring until just combined.
  6. Fold in the orange zest.
  7. Drop spoonfuls of dough onto a baking sheet lined with parchment paper, leaving space between cookies.
  8. Bake for 10-12 minutes until set but soft in the center.
  9. Cool on the baking sheet for 5 minutes, then transfer to a wire rack to cool completely.
