Description

Ingredients

  • 1 box (15.25 ounces) butter yellow cake mix
  • 1 container (8 ounces) sour cream
  • 4 large eggs, room temperature
  • 3/4 cup (163.5 g) vegetable oil
  • 1/2 cup water
  • 1 cup (200 g) light brown sugar, packed
  • 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • 2 cups (250 g) confectioners’ sugar
  • 1/4 cup (61 g) whole milk
  • 2 teaspoons vanilla extract

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Spray a 9×13-inch baking dish with non-stick cooking spray.
  2. Combine the cake mix, sour cream, eggs, vegetable oil, and water in a mixing bowl until smooth.
  3. Blend together the brown sugar and cinnamon in a separate bowl for the filling.
  4. Pour half of the batter into the prepared baking dish.
  5. Sprinkle the brown sugar and cinnamon mixture over the first layer of batter.
  6. Pour the remaining batter over the filling carefully.
  7. Swirl through the batter gently using a butter knife to create a marbled effect.
  8. Bake for 38 to 40 minutes, or until a toothpick comes out clean.
  9. Prepare the glaze by whisking together the confectioners’ sugar, milk, and vanilla until smooth.
  10. Pour the warm glaze over the cooled cake and let it soak in.
  11. Cool the cake for 15-20 minutes before slicing and serving.
