Description

A comforting classic pasta dish filled with creamy ricotta and mozzarella, drizzled with marinara sauce.


Ingredients

  • Manicotti pasta shells
  • 1 cup ricotta cheese
  • 1 cup fresh mozzarella cheese, diced
  • 1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • 1 cup marinara sauce
  • 1 large egg
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 tsp Italian seasoning
  • Salt & pepper, to taste
  • Fresh basil, for garnish

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C).
  2. Cook the manicotti shells according to package instructions until al dente. Drain and set aside.
  3. In a mixing bowl, combine ricotta cheese, fresh mozzarella, grated Parmesan, egg, minced garlic, Italian seasoning, salt, and pepper. Mix until creamy.
  4. Stuff each manicotti shell with the cheese mixture using a spoon or piping bag.
  5. Spread a layer of marinara sauce on the bottom of a baking dish.
  6. Arrange the stuffed manicotti on top of the sauce.
  7. Pour remaining marinara sauce over the manicotti.
  8. Cover with aluminum foil and bake for 25 minutes.
  9. Remove foil and bake for an additional 10 minutes until bubbly.
  10. Garnish with fresh basil before serving.

Notes

Make sure your ricotta is at room temperature for easier mixing. Leftovers can be stored in an airtight container for up to 4 days.
