- 1 Stick of Margarine (softened to room temperature)
- 3/4 cup Sugar
- 2 Eggs
- 1 tsp Vanilla Extract
- Pinch of Salt
- 3 1/2 cups All-Purpose Flour
- 1 heaping teaspoon Baking Powder
- Optional: Gel food coloring for festive hues
Instructions
- Cream the butters in an electric mixer until fluffy (3-5 minutes).
- Gradually add sugar and eggs, mixing until combined.
- Add vanilla extract and mix briefly.
- Whisk together flour, salt, and baking powder in a separate bowl.
- Slowly incorporate dry ingredients into the wet mixture until just combined.
- Chill the dough in the refrigerator for about 15 minutes.
- Prepare a baking sheet by chilling it for 15 minutes.
- Load the cookie press with dough and pipe cookies onto the ungreased baking sheet, spaced one inch apart.
- Add sprinkles if desired, then bake in a preheated oven at 350°F for 10-15 minutes.
- Cool on the baking sheet for a couple of minutes before transferring to a wire rack to cool completely.
Notes
Store cookies in an airtight container at room temperature for up to a week or freeze for longer storage. Variations can include adding lemon zest or almond extract for different flavors.
