Ingredients

  • 1 Stick of unsalted Butter (softened to room temperature)
  • 1 Stick of Margarine (softened to room temperature)
  • 3/4 cup Sugar
  • 2 Eggs
  • 1 tsp Vanilla Extract
  • Pinch of Salt
  • 3 1/2 cups All-Purpose Flour
  • 1 heaping teaspoon Baking Powder
  • Optional: Gel food coloring for festive hues

Instructions

  1. Cream the butters in an electric mixer until fluffy (3-5 minutes).
  2. Gradually add sugar and eggs, mixing until combined.
  3. Add vanilla extract and mix briefly.
  4. Whisk together flour, salt, and baking powder in a separate bowl.
  5. Slowly incorporate dry ingredients into the wet mixture until just combined.
  6. Chill the dough in the refrigerator for about 15 minutes.
  7. Prepare a baking sheet by chilling it for 15 minutes.
  8. Load the cookie press with dough and pipe cookies onto the ungreased baking sheet, spaced one inch apart.
  9. Add sprinkles if desired, then bake in a preheated oven at 350°F for 10-15 minutes.
  10. Cool on the baking sheet for a couple of minutes before transferring to a wire rack to cool completely.

Notes

Store cookies in an airtight container at room temperature for up to a week or freeze for longer storage. Variations can include adding lemon zest or almond extract for different flavors.
