Description

A nostalgic cherry pie featuring a sweet cherry filling and a buttery, crumbly topping, perfect for any occasion.


Ingredients

  • 2 cups fresh or frozen cherries
  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 tablespoon cornstarch
  • 1 tablespoon lemon juice
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1 tablespoon unsalted butter
  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • ½ cup rolled oats
  • ½ cup brown sugar
  • ½ teaspoon cinnamon (optional)
  • ½ cup cold butter, cubed

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).
  2. In a mixing bowl, combine cherries, sugar, cornstarch, lemon juice, and vanilla extract. Toss gently and pour into a pie dish.
  3. In another bowl, mix flour, oats, brown sugar, and cinnamon. Add cold, cubed butter and mix until crumbly.
  4. Sprinkle crumb mixture over cherry filling, dot with butter.
  5. Bake for 45-50 minutes until topping is golden brown and filling is bubbling.
  6. Cool slightly before serving.

Notes

Store leftovers in the fridge for up to 3 days; can also freeze well.
