- 1 Cup unsalted butter (at room temperature)
- 1 Cup powdered sugar
- ¼ Teaspoon salt
- 1 Tablespoon maraschino cherry juice
- ¼ Teaspoon almond extract
- 2 Cups all-purpose flour
- 1 Cup maraschino cherries (chopped)
- ¼ Cup granulated sugar (for rolling)
- 24 Hershey Kisses
Instructions
- Cream the butter and sugar in a bowl until light and fluffy.
- Add maraschino cherry juice and almond extract and mix until smooth.
- Gradually incorporate flour and salt, mixing just until combined.
- Fold in chopped maraschino cherries.
- Form cookie balls and roll each in granulated sugar.
- Chill the dough balls in the refrigerator for at least 20 minutes.
- Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
- Bake the cookies for about 10 minutes until lightly golden.
- Add a Hershey kiss to the center of each cookie as soon as they come out of the oven.
- Allow to cool on a wire rack before serving.
Notes
For best texture, ensure butter is room temperature and add more flour as needed based on dough consistency. Store in an airtight container for up to a week.
