Ingredients

  • 8 tostada shells
  • 2 cups cooked shredded chicken
  • 1/2 cup BBQ sauce
  • 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese (or Mexican blend)
  • 1/4 red onion, thinly sliced
  • 1/4 cup chopped fresh cilantro
  • 1 avocado, sliced (optional)
  • 1/4 cup sour cream (optional)
  • 1/2 cup black beans (optional)
  • 1/2 cup corn (optional)
  • Pickled jalapeños, to taste (optional)
  • Lime wedges, for serving (optional)

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 400 degrees F and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  2. In a bowl, mix the shredded chicken with BBQ sauce to coat evenly.
  3. Assemble the tostadas by placing the shells on the baking sheet and topping with BBQ chicken and shredded cheese.
  4. Bake for 8 to 10 minutes until the cheese is melted and bubbly.
  5. Garnish with red onion, cilantro, and any additional toppings you desire.
  6. Serve immediately for a crispy experience.

Notes

For the best crunch, store leftovers separately. You can prepare chicken in advance but assemble tostadas just before baking.
