Description

Delightfully shaped crescent rolls perfect for Easter, customizable with various fillings for a festive treat.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 can refrigerated crescent roll dough (8 count)
  • 1 egg (for egg wash)
  • 1 tbsp water (for egg wash)
  • Optional Fillings: Cinnamon sugar, Chocolate chips, Jam, Nutella
  • 2 1/4 tsp active dry yeast (1 packet)
  • 1/4 cup warm water (110°F)
  • 1/2 cup milk, warmed
  • 1/4 cup granulated sugar
  • 1/3 cup unsalted butter, melted
  • 1 large egg (for dough)
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 3 to 3 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 additional egg and 1 tbsp water (for egg wash)

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  2. Unroll the crescent dough onto a floured surface, keeping it in the original rectangular shape.
  3. Cut each triangle lengthwise to create two thinner triangles.
  4. Roll each triangle from the wide end toward the tip snugly.
  5. Shape small pieces of dough into loops for bunny ears and tuck them gently into the top of each roll.
  6. Arrange the rolls on the baking sheet with the pointed tips underneath.
  7. Whisk together the egg and water; brush over each roll.
  8. Bake for 10-12 minutes or until puffed and golden brown.
  9. For homemade dough, stir yeast and warm water; let sit until foamy. Combine warm milk, sugar, melted butter, egg, and salt. Gradually add flour to form a soft dough.
  10. Knead on a floured surface, let rise until doubled, then shape as above.
