- 3/4 cup vegetable oil
- 1/2 cup water
- 1/2 cup whiskey
- 2 cups semi-sweet chocolate chips
- 3 tablespoons heavy whipping cream
- 2 tablespoons whiskey (for ganache)
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 325°F (163°C) and prepare a 9×13 inch metal baking dish with nonstick cooking spray.
- Melt the chocolate in a microwave-safe bowl by microwave in 30-second intervals until fully melted and smooth.
- Mix together the flour, cocoa powder, salt, and baking soda in a separate bowl.
- Beat the eggs and sugar in a stand mixer until light and fluffy, about 5 minutes.
- Combine the melted chocolate, vegetable oil, water, and whiskey into the egg mixture, blending until smooth.
- Fold the dry mixture into the wet mixture gently until combined.
- Pour the batter into the prepared baking pan and bake for 46-48 minutes.
- Prepare the ganache by melting semi-sweet chocolate chips, heavy cream, and whiskey over low heat until smooth, then cool slightly before drizzling over the cake.
