Description

A homemade jalapeno salt that adds a spicy flavor boost to a variety of dishes.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 23 fresh jalapenos
  • 1 cup coarse sea salt
  • 1 tablespoon garlic powder (optional)
  • 1 tablespoon lime zest (optional)

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 200°F (93°C).
  2. Slice the jalapenos in half and remove the seeds if you prefer less heat.
  3. Place the jalapeno halves on a baking sheet and dry them in the oven for about 120 minutes until fully dehydrated.
  4. Once cool, blend the dried jalapenos with the coarse sea salt in a food processor until well combined.
  5. Mix in garlic powder and lime zest if using for extra flavor.
  6. Store in an airtight container. Enjoy adding it to your favorite dishes or give it as a gift!

Notes

For the best flavor, choose firm, glossy jalapenos and consider using pastel sea salt for a more complex taste.
