- 1 lb lean ground beef
- 1 small onion, chopped
- 1 can (8 oz) pizza sauce
- 1 can (11 oz) refrigerated French bread dough
- 2 cups shredded Italian cheese blend
- 1 package (3 oz) pepperoni slices
- 1 egg
- 1 tablespoon water
- Cooking spray
- Extra pizza sauce for serving (optional)
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Spray 9-inch glass pie plate with cooking spray.
- Cook ground beef and onion in skillet over medium-high heat for 5-7 minutes until beef is browned. Drain fat.
- Stir pizza sauce into beef mixture and set aside.
- Unroll French bread dough into pie plate, pressing into bottom and up sides with overhang.
- Spoon beef mixture into crust. Sprinkle with half the cheese, layer pepperoni, then remaining cheese.
- Beat egg with water and brush over dough edges.
- Bake 38-48 minutes until crust is golden brown and cheese is bubbly.
- Cool 15 minutes before slicing. Serve with extra pizza sauce if desired.
