Description

A luscious, dairy-free chocolate mousse made with soft or silken tofu, rich dark chocolate, and customizable flavorings.


Ingredients

Scale
  • 150 g dark chocolate, roughly chopped
  • 300 g soft or silken tofu
  • 1/4 cup dark brown sugar or white sugar
  • Flavorings of your choice (vanilla extract, almond extract, coffee, or orange zest)
  • 1/8 tsp table salt
  • For serving: Fresh fruit, crumbled cookies, cake cubes, nuts, or whipped coconut cream

Instructions

  1. Melt the chocolate by placing it in a heatproof mixing bowl over a pot of simmering water, stirring until smooth (about 5-7 minutes).
  2. Blend the tofu, sugar, chosen flavorings, and salt in a food processor until silky smooth (about 2-3 minutes).
  3. Whisk the tofu mixture gradually into the melted chocolate until fully combined.
  4. Taste the mousse and adjust sweetness or flavorings as desired.
  5. Chill the mousse in serving dishes for at least 1-2 hours before serving.
  6. Serve with fresh fruit, crumbled cookies, or cake cubes, and enjoy!

Notes

For a lighter texture, incorporate air into the mousse by mixing well. This dessert is best enjoyed fresh or refrigerated for up to 3 days.
