Description
Hearty and flavorful sandwiches featuring tender cube steak cooked with caramelized onions in a savory Worcestershire and beef broth sauce, served on toasted sub rolls with melted mozzarella cheese.

- 6 Tbsp butter, divided
- 1 onion, thinly sliced
- 1 1/2 lb beef cube steaks
- 1 tsp seasoned salt
- 1 cup beef broth
- 1/4 cup Worcestershire sauce
- 2 tsp hot sauce
- 6 sub rolls, halved lengthwise
- 1/2 cup mayonnaise
- 2 Tbsp Dijon mustard
- 8 oz shredded mozzarella cheese
Instructions
- Melt 2 Tbsp butter in skillet. Cook onions 10 minutes until caramelized. Remove and set aside.
- Slice cube steaks, season with salt. Melt 2 Tbsp butter in same skillet. Brown steak 5-6 minutes.
- Add broth, Worcestershire, hot sauce, and onions. Simmer 10 minutes until liquid reduces. Stir in remaining 2 Tbsp butter.
- Toast sub rolls under broiler 2-3 minutes.
- Mix mayonnaise and mustard. Spread on rolls.
- Top with steak mixture and cheese. Serve warm.
Notes
- Cut steak against the grain for maximum tenderness
- Leftovers keep in refrigerator for 3 days
- Adjust hot sauce to taste preference
- Can use provolone or pepper jack cheese instead of mozzarella
