- 14 oz (400g) extra-firm tofu, pressed and crumbled
- 1 cup grated carrots
- 1 cup finely chopped broccoli
- ½ cup diced red bell pepper
- ¼ cup chopped green onions
- 2 garlic cloves, minced
- 1 tbsp grated ginger
- ½ cup breadcrumbs (or panko for extra crunch)
- 2 tbsp cornstarch or arrowroot powder
- 2 tbsp soy sauce
- 1 tbsp sesame oil
- 1 tbsp sriracha (optional)
- 1 tsp onion powder
- ½ tsp salt
- ¼ tsp black pepper
- Oil for frying (or baking)
Instructions
- Prep Tofu: Press tofu for 15 mins to remove excess water. Crumble into bowl.
- Mix Ingredients: Add all vegetables, garlic, ginger, breadcrumbs, cornstarch, and seasonings to tofu. Mix well.
- Form Patties: Shape mixture into 8 equal patties (about ½-inch thick). Chill for 15 mins to firm up.
- Cook: Heat oil in skillet over medium heat. Cook patties 4-5 mins per side until golden brown and crispy.
- Alternative Baking: For healthier version, bake at 400°F (200°C) for 20 mins, flipping halfway.
- Serve: Enjoy in buns with sauce, over salads, or with dipping sauces.
