Description

A delightful and colorful snack made from crispy fried butterfly pea flowers, perfect for sharing and impressing guests.


Ingredients

  • 1 cup tempura flour
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 2 teaspoons sugar
  • 0.165 pounds butterfly pea flowers
  • 1 liter oil

Instructions

  1. Pour tempura flour, salt, and sugar into a mixing bowl.
  2. Add cold water gradually while stirring with a spoon until smooth.
  3. Coat the butterfly pea flowers in the batter, ensuring each flower is well-coated.
  4. In a pan over medium-high heat, pour in 1 liter of oil.
  5. Wait until the oil starts to bubble (about 350°F/175°C).
  6. Drop the flowers into the pan, about 15-20 flowers at a time.
  7. Fry for 2-3 minutes, flipping frequently to cook evenly.
  8. Once golden and crispy, transfer to a serving dish lined with paper towels.
  9. Serve immediately, preferably with Thai sweet chili sauce.
