  • 2 cups broccoli florets
  • 1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon black pepper

Instructions

  1. Heat Olive Oil: In a large pot, heat that tablespoon of olive oil over medium heat until shimmering but not smoking.
  2. Brown the Sausage: Add the sliced chicken sausage to the pot. Cook until they’re browned, about 5 minutes.
  3. Sauté the Aromatics: Stir in your diced onion and minced garlic. Cook for about 2 minutes until fragrant.
  4. Combine Orzo Ingredients: Add in the orzo, chicken broth, and milk. Bring it all to a gentle simmer.
  5. Simmer to Perfection: Cover the pot and let it cook for about 8 to 10 minutes.
  6. Add Broccoli and Parmesan: Uncover and fold in the broccoli florets and grated Parmesan cheese. Stir until the cheese melts.
  7. Season and Serve: Lastly, season with salt and black pepper, mixing well. Serve immediately.
