Description
A comforting dish featuring succulent pork chops in a creamy sauce with crispy bacon.
Ingredients
Scale
- 4 pork chops (bone-in or boneless)
- 4 strips of thick-cut bacon
- 1 cup heavy cream
- 1 cup chicken broth
- 1 onion, diced
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- Salt and pepper to taste
- Fresh parsley for garnish
Instructions
- In a skillet over medium heat, cook the bacon until crispy, about 5-7 minutes. Remove the bacon and set aside, leaving the drippings in the pan.
- Season the pork chops with salt and pepper. In the same skillet, add the pork chops and cook for about 4-5 minutes per side until browned and cooked through. Remove and keep warm.
- Add the diced onion to the skillet and sauté for about 3-4 minutes or until softened.
- Stir in the minced garlic and cook for an additional minute until fragrant.
- Pour in the chicken broth and bring to a simmer, scraping up any browned bits from the skillet.
- Reduce heat and stir in the heavy cream, cooking until the sauce thickens slightly, about 2-3 minutes.
- Add the cooked bacon back into the skillet, stirring to combine.
- Return the pork chops to the pan, making sure to coat them thoroughly in the sauce.
- Serve hot, garnished with freshly chopped parsley.
Notes
Let pork chops rest for 5 minutes after cooking for juiciness. You can use coconut cream for a dairy-free version.
