Description

A soul-warming pasta dish combining crispy bacon, earthy mushrooms, and a rich creamy sauce, perfect for family dinners and cozy evenings.


Ingredients

  • 8 oz fettuccine or tagliatelle
  • 4 slices thick-cut bacon, chopped
  • 8 oz baby bella or cremini mushrooms, sliced
  • 3 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1/2 cup white wine
  • 1 cup heavy cream
  • 1 tsp dried thyme or oregano
  • Salt and pepper, to taste
  • Freshly grated Parmesan cheese, for serving

Instructions

  1. Cook the pasta in a large pot of salted water according to package instructions until al dente, about 8-10 minutes. Drain and set aside, reserving some pasta water.
  2. In a large skillet over medium heat, cook the chopped bacon for about 5-7 minutes until crispy and golden brown.
  3. Add the sliced mushrooms to the skillet and cook for about 4-5 minutes until tender and slightly browned.
  4. Stir in the minced garlic and cook for an additional minute until fragrant.
  5. Pour in the white wine and simmer for about 2-3 minutes until the alcohol cooks off.
  6. Lower the heat and add the heavy cream and dried herbs, stirring for about 2-3 minutes until well combined.
  7. Season with salt and pepper to taste, adding reserved pasta water as needed for desired consistency.
  8. Toss the cooked pasta with the creamy sauce until fully coated.
  9. Serve with freshly grated Parmesan cheese on top.

Notes

Reserve a bit of pasta water to adjust the sauce consistency if it becomes too thick.
